Case In Point 2018-19

Buoyed by the success of the first edition of the case study solving competition — Case In Point — launched in December 2017, Espark-Viridian rolled out Case In Point 2018. This time around, expanding the event pan India and the competition’s finale were held across three cities — Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai with a gratification pool of INR 2 Lakh.
The competition was held in two phases, phase 1 invited applicants to register individually by solving a case study online. Out of the 300 applications received shortlisted participants were invited to phase 2- final physical round held in Delhi on the 19th January 2019, Bangalore – 22nd January, 2019 and Mumbai – 24th January, 2019.
Finalist introduction and event flow were followed by team allocation were participants were divided into teams of two. Teams were given 3 hours to come up with a feasible solution for the challenge provided in the case study provided in the form of a power point presentation. Each team got 10 minutes with a mentor/judge to brainstorm and validate their solution.
At the end of 3 hours, teams then had to present their solution to our panel of judges one by one, followed by a Q&A. The teams were judged on problem analysis, the novelty of solution, the practicality of the solution and ability to defend the strategy.
Sarthak Vidyarthi and Yash Dhagat emerged as the winners, while, Yogesh Aggarwal and Vinay Kumar emerged as 1st runners up in Delhi Finale. Arkaprabho Ghosh and Revathi Sharma were the winners, while, Bhavya Merani and Pranay Bhardwaj were 1st runners up for Bangalore. For Mumbai, Preet Bharatbhai and Akhil Dhiman were our winners and Mukund Raghavendra and Chandan Singh landed the 1st runners up place.
Case In Point is aimed at offering budding entrepreneurs a chance to solve the existing problems of startups. The competition helps budding entrepreneurs in understanding the problems that startups face, simulated through the case studies, thereby enabling them to assess their own entrepreneurial and problem-solving abilities
